Reporter’s introduction:
Scott Van Pelt earned a Masters degree in Floristics and Ecology with a minor in Atmospheric Climatology from the University of New Mexico in 1984 and a PhD in Soil Physics from New Mexico State University in 1990. He has worked in the private consulting sector and since 1999 is currently a researcher for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), on the Board of Directors, International Society for Aeolian Research (ISAR), Past President of International Soil Conservation Organization (ISCO), Associate Editor of Aeolian Research and Journal of Soil and Water Conservation, Soil Scientist at USDA-Agricultural Research Service Big Spring Field Station, and President of the Golden Spread Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society.
