      报告人简介:

      单卫星,男,j9九游会官方登录教授,农学院院长。获西北农业大学农学学士、硕士学位和理学博士学位;1996.1-2001.4,美国加州大学戴维斯分校从事博士后研究;2001.5-2006.3,澳大利亚国立大学任职研究科学家;2005.9-至今,回国到j9九游会官方登录任教。

      入选教育部国家级人才,国家杰出青年科学基金获得者,百千万人才工程国家级人选暨有突出贡献中青年专家,国家马铃薯产业技术体系岗位科学家。长期致力于作物卵菌病害成灾机理及病害防控研究,探索作物广谱和持久抗病性。先后主持国家自然科学基金重点项目、国家自然科学基金国际(地区)合作与交流重点项目、国家外专局高等学校学科创新引智计划(111项目)等项目,在Cell、Molecular Plant、New Phytologist、Plant Physiology、Molecular Plant Pathology等国际期刊发表研究论文50余篇。

     《生命科学研究进展》是j9九游会官方登录博士一年级课程。该课程将邀请生命科学不同领域的优秀教授讲授各领域的最新研究进展和他们自己的科研工作。

Title: Dissection of plant susceptibility provides novel gene resources for improving crop disease resistance

Introduction of Speaker:

Dr. Weixing Shan received his Bachelor, Master, and PhD degrees from Northwestern Agricultural University. He did postdoctoral research in the Department of Plant Pathology, University of California at Davis, and worked as Research Fellow in The Australian National University before being appointed as professor of plant pathology in Northwest A&F University in 2005. His research is focused on plant-pathogen interactions and oomycete crop diseases, using Phytophthora as model species. He is particularly interested in molecular basis of compatible plant-oomycete interaction for developing improved disease resistance strategies in potato against late blight pathogen Phytophthora infestans. He cloned the first oomycete avirulence gene, Avr1b, observed and discovered novel mechanisms underlying the entry of eukaryotic pathogen effectors into host cells.

Dr. Shan is a MOE Changjiang Professor. His research has been supported by prestigious grants from National Natural Science Foundation, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Science and Technology, including National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has published over 50 research articles in peer-reviewed international journals, including Cell, Molecular Plant, New Phytologist, Plant Physiology, and Molecular Plant Pathology, etc.
