　　Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, 1968: Agricultural Engineering (with high honors);Michigan State University, U.S.A., 1973: M. Sc. degree in Agricultural Engineering;Michigan State University, 1975: Ph. D. degree in Agricultural Engineering.  

　　Working Experiences:

　　1975 -1976:  Post-Doctoral Research Engineer, University of California, Davis;
　　1976:  K.U.Leuven, Belgium,research engineer, (National Research Fund, Belgium).
　　1977: Visiting Assistant Professor, Agricultural Engineering Dept, Michigan State University.
　　1977 Research Manager and lecturer, K.U.Leuven, Agricultural Engineering Department:
　　1983 K.U.Leuven: Associate Professor in Agricultural Engineering.
　　1987 to –present: K.U.Leuven, Belgium: Professor in Biosystems Engineering

　　Research Interests:

　　1.Mechanics and optics of agricultural crops including modeling of bio-physical processes;
　　2.Efficiency of grain and forage harvesting through loss reduction in field and in storage;
　　3.Development of flow measurement systems for granular materials; 4.Precision agriculture for field and orchard crops.
