　　Eldon K. Uhlenhopp is Professor of Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine.  From 1984-1993, Uhlenhopp actively developed the Production Medicine educational program for the College of Veterinary Medicine. 

　　Uhlenhopp has been an innovator in curriculum modification, student outcomes assessment, and distance education, and has consulted extensively with international leaders and educators from the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia on issues of curriculum, licensure, institutional certification, and public/private veterinary services.  He has made consultation visits to Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, England, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Croatia, Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Argentina, Chile, Russia, Ukraine, China, and Afghanistan.  He currently serves as the chair of the International Affairs Committee of the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges.  He is a past president of the Academic Associate Deans group of that Association.  He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine.  Uhlenhopp served as interim associate vice president and director of Continuing and Distance Education for Iowa State University from September 2007 through September 2008.

　　Uhlenhopp has served as team leader for multiple U.S. delegations to China.  These have involved veterinary education and work in infectious disease diagnosis, monitoring, and surveillance consultations and through visits in Beijing, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Tai Zhou, and Hanzhou.
